greers / martins of easkey in sligo
« on: Wednesday 11 May 11 21:27 BST (UK) »
interested in info connecting Rev james greer of co sligo (aged 66 in 1911) to mark martin . Mark martin was born in sussex and was married to fanny. They had 10 children who were born in donegall and sligo before moving to londonderry about 1900,
new to this obviously.
Thank you,

Hello and welcome to rootschat  :)

Family Search http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#p=home has Irish civil marriage index details:

1872 Dromore West Vol 4 pg 231
Mark Martin
Fanny Greer has the same references

Was this what you expected? You could send for the marriage certificate for Fanny's father's name.

There's something here about James http://homepage.eircom.net/~stokanens/local/halloran.htm#GREER

best wishes

many thanks. I can hardly believe what you have turned up. This has also confirmed that family friends who have remained in close contact for 3 generations are related.

The best thing to do would be to order the marriage certificates of both James Greer and Fanny Greer to compare their fathers' names.

The rootschat thread above, and the websites re James, look to be different places in Sligo for these two so the certificates would be the next step.
