Hi Dennis

If you're searching for UK WWII campaign medals, they weren't individually inscribed.  So unless Mr Johnson had his engraved privately, there's no way you can be sure any individual medal was his, unfortunately.  On the other hand, you should be able to acquire examples of his medals at reasonable cost.

Sad that he never got his medals.  Are you sure that they were issued?  If they were never claimed, the MOD will still issue them to the next of kin. 

(This doesn't apply to WWI medals, in case anyone wonders.)
