Hi Garlands,

I have monumental inscriptions for 17 Thomas' in The Moriah Congregational Chapel ranging from 1728-1910 but no Richards nor Morgans.
In Pantycelyn Chapel I have 8 Morgan/s from 1796-1855, no Richards and 13 Thomas' from 1812 - 1885.

Do you have these MI's from Pantycelyn graveyard, Abergwesyn?


Roderick Prothero of Tymawr died 6th May 1829 aged 71

also Margaret, his wife, died 14 December 1853 aged 83



John Prothero of Allt-Felen died 16 September 1828 aged 68

also Magdalen, his wife, 23 May 1825 aged 63

also Jacob, son, died 3 April 1829 aged 36

also Rees, son, died 27 September 1808 aged 21


Any dates or particular Prothero's you are looking for, I have others buried here but they came from Llangammarch Bwlchmawr and Pistillgwyn

Do you have a Margaret Prothero born about 1783 in your family records? Don't know the name of the farm she was born at but she worked and died at Llanycharfa.

Sorry, I have not been on Rootschat for a while.

In reply to your question.  I'm looking for Richards family in Abergwesyn.  That's all I know.  Anyone there before the 1841 census. As well as Richards, the family name could have been derived from Richard, Prichard, Ritchard etc.  Thanks for checking the graveyards, I'm a little surprised that there are no Richards family mentioned.  Although it's quite probable that farming families were buried in or around the farms within which they lived pre 1840's?
