The Boat, Wolverley

My wife's ggfather ,John Hickman is shown as living at 'the boat', Wolverley in the 1871 and 1881 census.  Does anyone know what this refers to could it be a canal boat or perhaps a pub
Yorkshire: Cass, Chambers, Young, Walker, Kidney
Durham: Routledge
Norfolk, Yorkshire: Shanks
Lancashire, Cheshire, Kidderminster: Hickman

The only 2 pubs I know of in Wolverley are the the Queen Head, or the Lock, the lock is at the side of the canal, so it must of been a boat moored on the canal.

I've looked at Wolverley on an 1888 Ordnance Survey map and found what might, just might be "Wolverley Boat" - the word "Boat" is difficult to make out. Might just be seeing what I want to see!!
Close by on the map is "Wire Mill" and "Wire Mill" appears on the Census image following the "Hickman, The Boat" Census image.
