Dowlais didnt become a independant town until 1837. You will find records of Dowlais within Dowlais and Merthyr Libraries. Merthyr would be your best start.

Hi
William Pendry married Jane Hill 1820 merthyr  tydfil. All the Pendry's in Aberdare are all my Ancestors. I think that Philip Pendry in Dowlais is the son of my 3rd great grandfather Philip Pendry.
