Photography Studio, 48 Lower O'Connell Street.

Would any kind person be able to tell me the name of the Photography Studio of 48, Lower O'Connell Street please. I can make out the address but not the name. The photo was taken 1937.

There's no photographer listed as that address in Thom's 1938 ..

  48 O'Connell Street Lwr
   Premier Tailors (Ireland) Ltd
   Freely Bros & Co., Jewellers
   Charles Barklie, estate agent

In 1943 the only difference is that the ground floor is occupied by Joseph Cafolla, ice cream parlour

In 1927 the Freely jewellery business is listed at the address, along with Frewen & Ryan, hosiers, glovers & outfitters and also listed is the London Gen. Assurance Co.

Most of the Dublin city photo studios seem to be listed in the directories but I suppose it's possible that some smaller studios were not... or this particular studio didnt operate for very long at this address

Is the address clear ?

In 1938 the photographers listed on the street are  :
  14 - H. Cowan
  55 - H. Roe McMahon

I'm so grateful for your time, I can't thank you enough. I think now that the date is incorrect and maybe the photo is earlier than is stated. I have attached both sides of the photo. I would appreciate your thoughts.

there's a max. size allowed for attachments - I think it's 500k. It's mentioned somewhere on the help pages ...

I'll have a look back at some earlier years to see if a studio was at that address at an earlier date..

p.s. it cant be that much earlier since before 1924 the street was named Sackville St Lwr.

the closest I have found so far is in 1914...

update : the street listing also mentions a Peter Dinnette, photographer at that address
