I vaguely remember the house that Ralph Duffin lived in at the Grange being sold, about 1952, to the present owner who is now in a nursing home. My brother visited him on Friday night past and obtained the following information.
Ralph moved to the main Ballymena to Larne road where he had bought a farm. He remained there for a few years when he emigrated to America. After a few years he returned but we are not sure where to. He was married to an aunt of a gentleman I know very well, please give me time to follow up this lead. I believe he died quite suddenly when he was about eighty years old.

This news is very exciting.  Ralph's mother was Margaret Duffin nee Nesbitt who was a great great aunt of mine.  This branch of the Nesbitt family are all gone now.  It would be fantastic news if we find that Ralph was indeed married and perhaps had children.  Thank you very much for the post.  Deborah

Deborah,
Sorry, I omitted to mention that he had no children. His wife's maiden name was Brown, sorry I have no more in formation at present.

Deborah,
At last I have some information for you. I spoke to his nephew Raymond, Ralphs wife was called Meg, probably Margaret, Brown, a sister of Raymonds father. After they left Grange they went to Tully which is a short distance from Ballymena on the road to Larne. After a few years they went to Canada, again returning after a short time and living in Kinhilt Street in Ballymena. After a short time they again moved to Toome Road, Ballymena. Ralph died 28th July 1979 and Meg died 29th November 1988. They are both buried in the Cushendall Road Cemetery, Ballymena. Raymond said that Ralph was not connected to either of the Duffin families I mentioned earlier. My email address is (*), if you contact me directly I will pass on these communications to Raymond. Although he is not computer literate his children are.

John
