Please help with photo date & photographer id

Hello again.  After your success with my previous photo (posted 21/4) I am hoping you can help with dating this one.

At present we are not sure who this little family are. The boy has somewhat of a resemblance to the man (John McConnell) that was featured in my original request but other than that we have no clue.

The photograph was found amongst quite a number - the vast majority of which we have identified to hail from the NE of England.  Does this tie in with the photographer?

The original is mounted on quite thick buff coloured card (about 1.5mm) with rounded corners and the other dimensions are 168 x109 mm. The back is blank except for a pencilled number 56515.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As Ken says this was quite a large company but all up t'north.

Spennymoor makes sense.  The McConnells were there in the early 1900s.
