Glenesk family
« on: Thursday 05 May 11 09:37 BST (UK) »
I am looking for my late grandfathers second wife Agnes Mary Glenesk (formally Dowie), the last address i have is School   Cottage, Coltness House Wishaw. Agnes was born in 1913 in Aberdeenshire i think.  They had one daughter who i cannot mention as she may still be alive. I hope somebody can help thankyou.

Hi Eve,

Yes my grandad was Frand Reid Glenesk and as you said he married his second wife Agnes on 11 December 1943.  I cannot find Agnes death anywhere I am trying to find their daughter without success also.

Look foward to hearing from you.

Hi All

Had a quick search on scotlandspeople there is one death in Scotland for a female with the surname glenesk

her birth year is listed as 1914 she died in the year 2000.

The search parameters I used I tried all variations of christian name so I then left it out I tried all females with the name Glenesk no christian name and a birth year of 1913 +/- 2 year and all areas you get 1 result as above

Yours Aye

Hi,

Agnes was on his death certificate as Agnes Mary Pringle Glenesk, i am wondering if she moved away from Scotland with her daughter.  Her daughter married and has a son. J have the death certificates of her parents, her father was Robert Dowie, an Auctioneer and her mother was Janet Henderson Dowie. Agnes also had a brother they lived in Buckhaven.

I feel as if i am hitting my head against a brick wall.  I suppose they could have left the country altogether as my grandad had a Uncle in America.

Thanku for trying
