Hi every on , good Christmas one hopes, regarding HTI he was the great grand farther to my wife,
the line comes down through Ada Violet daughter of, what I know of HTI's early life is pure guess
work, his upbringing in Sandwich Kent as far as I can see is just as I say guess work, to me he
just appeared in the 1841 as Henry Thompson no Irvine, is this HTI did he add the Irvine for some
reason, I am sure he was the son of Arthur Wellesley aka 'Duke of Wellington' the illegitimate son
to one of Wellesley's 'ladies', if any one knows different do not hold back, any way assuming the
HT in Sandwich is our man (boy) he was possibly an apprenticed to the chap he was living with
who was a Cooper by trade, in the 51c he became Henry Irvine, now that is were I am not   altogether happy that Henry Thompson and Henry Irvine are one of the same, but as the 1841
census was not a reliable source of info because of the law not making it bindingly true, as the
51 was, you read into it with a very open mind, any way lets assume they are the same, HT (I)
went on to marry Sarah Hudson and 2 children later he dump her and she then seems to have
done the same in the Sandwich work house to the children, HT ran off the London's east end,
and got working for the Glessing family, but to go back to the early days there is a story doing
the rounds that he was the son of a Silk Mercer in Cheapside, and he had badly deformed legs
but the Mercer had them corrected, but if that was true he should have shown up in the 41 in
Cheapside but I have not been able to find him, as I say of the short comings of the 41, I digress,
assuming HTI married Sarah Hudson where is the record, this were the Wellesly connection comes
in he married Sarah in the private chapel of the Wellesly family, as the Duke was still alive he died
in Sept 1852 if there is a record its possibly in there, I have to say this is all conjecture on my part
and what has been passed to me via my wife and her gran Ada, now as I say if any one knows
better or with good info, as a foot note as has been noted I to do not believe he died 101 years,
when he was taken to court and then to Dorchester prison, they would have made every effort
make sure all of the supplied info was correct, so his true age was given at this time, why he
added a few years is another story for what I have been told.
a few years is another story
