may help me with my family tree. I am a descendant of Margaret and William and am struggling to find the name of Williams parents. Does it mention them on the marriage certificate?

Firstly, welcome to Rootschat it is a great site!!.  Secondly, I have no problem with you opening old threads, it is just great being able to help.

On the marriage certificate for William Graham and Margaret Murray, it says that William was 32 when he married and his occupation was as a coal miner and living a Plashetts and his father was Alexander Graham and his occupation was as a coal miner too. But on the marriage certificate in 1919 it states that Alexander has died.  As for William's mother I found somewhere that she is called Jane but not sure!  Will let you know how I found this information about his Mother

Hello Rob

Have found William Graham's birth certificate.  It reads William was born on the 29 October 1882 in Canonbie and his parents were Alexander Graham and Jane Simpson.
