Murray Family in Plasketts, Kielder - Completed

Can anyone tell me any information about the Murray family living in Falstone, Bellingham. I struggling to find marriages and deaths for the following: Thomas Murray born 20 June 1890, Canonbie. James Murray born 17 July 1896, Canonbie, Christina Murray 12 Feb 1898, Margaret Murray born 23 Jul 1893, Canonbie, Jeanie Evelyn Murray born 1907, Falstone, Northumberland.  Their parents Benjamin and Agnes Murray (nee Irving) both died at Plasketts, Kielder.  It looks like Benjamin and Agnes moved from Canonbie to Plasketts, Kielder, probably for work.
Would be grateful for any help

Plashetts colliery in Falstone parish was leased by its owner the Duke of Northumberland in 1890 to a company who extended its operations. Many of the additional miners were recruited from Canonbie where a colliery had recently closed. Miners were often mobile, living in accomodation provided by the mine owners and employed on year long agreements. The Murrays may have moved, though the Plashetts mine went on working until the 1920s.

A possibility for Jeanie Evelyn born 1907?  Does the exact dob match?  I am not deterred by the Sussex location because following both World Wars my families dispersed over the UK (and further afield), but this may not have been the case for yours.

Hello Micheal Dixon and Matilda1

Thank you both for very kindly for all the information you sent me.  The photographs certainly give you a idea of how they lived and worked, so that means that Kielder water is where Plasketts was?  This is what i call history!.  As Agnes Murray died in 1914 in Chapel Row, Plasketts and Benjamin died in 1927 in Shop Row and occupation was a coal mine (Hewer) and his death certificate is signed by his son James Murray.  so am hoping James lived nearby?  I did get a marriage certificate for a James Murray married to Elizabeth A Telfer , Jul-Aug-Sep 1917,Bellingham, Northumberland, but sadly the wrong one!

I do though have the marriage for James's sister Margaret Murray born 1892 to William Graham who was also a coalminer they married at Hexham Register Office.

As for Jeanie E Murray I don't have her birth certificate but it does look very promising.

Hello Matilda

I sent for the marriage certificate for Jean Evelyn Murray and Edward Timothy Carey and it is the correct Jean E Murray connected to my family. Jean's occupation was as a mental nurse, living in Brighton County Borough mental hospital.  Her father's occupation was now as a horse dealer (deceased).  Was hoping that some of brothers and sister may have signed the marriage certifcate but no luck!

Yes, I was hoping that some her family would have been witnesses.  As her brothers and sisters have very popular christian names was hoping i might have found at least one of them on the marriage certificate.
