He was discharged April 1915 as being unfit due to epilepsy which he stated he had for 3 years.
His statement says he first had fits as a boy aged about 14 & didn't have another until after a bout of sickness while in S.Africa,then had them 2/3 times a month until he was sent to France in 1914 where he received wounds to the neck & shoulder & was sent back to barracks in Brighton where the fits restarted.He was considered sound & fit in all other respects.
