Gray Family Boston Lincolnshire
« on: Wednesday 27 April 11 00:41 BST (UK) »
I have just started tracing my family tree following the Gray name.
Would be interested in hearing from anyone within the same family.
My great grandmother was Ann Gray nee Forrest who married Thomas Gray.
Does anyone know if this family originally came from Ireland?

Hi

Ann Forrest and Thomas Gray married in 1906  www.freebmd.org.uk

Have you checked the 1911 census to determine their ages and birthplaces

Hi,   I don't know if they are connected, but there were many Grays around the East Midlands/Lincolnshire/Cambridgeshire.  Have a look at the thread on Thomas Gray

http://www.rootschat.com/forum/index.php/topic,221158.0.html

if you haven't spotted the thread already... (my ancestors settled round Boston, Lincs)

I'm not actively researching at the moment, but if you can get back another generation/find them in the census you might find this helps you.  If you haven't got access to any subscription site, try 1881 census on the Family Search site and check to see if your local library has Ancestry for free (they don't often advertise the fact).  But get their marriage certificate first.  I hth, but if you already know all this stuff, please ignore!

Good luck
