I am looking for information about the Heighgrove Coal pit in Somerset around the High Littleton area my 7x great Grandfather John Chivers was the Coal Bailiff in 1759 he was killed in an accident there on April 17 1759 and was buried the next day, he left behind a widow and ten children.
One of his sons Thomas Chivers who had been born in 1741 in High Littleton and had married three times was also killed in a mining accident in 1796 at the Tyning Coal Works in Radstock, I would love any information about the seperate accidents which occured to cause the deaths of these two men and any info about the two mines in question.
Kind Regards
Beth
