     Great work Janis.

This could mean that the marriage of Henry Gilroy and Elizabeth Hazon makes sense, but only if Elizabeth Foster Hazon was a widow when she married Stoddard Baird.  Is there any mention of her being a widow on the marriage record?  I assume she must have been as Elizabeth's age on the 1881Census gives her a birthdate of 1823/4, well before the 1833 marriage.  Will need to find her father's name now.  It also means that Stoddard Baird is not William's biological grandfather.

    Thanks Janis.                 Joan

I looked at the marriage on the BT's for St. John but it doesn't say anything about their status or anyone else's.  I do not know about the regular parish register though, or if the banns are available.

There is a marriage of a William Hazon and Elizabeth Weddel in Gosforth 26 Nov 1821.  There is a baptism in N/C All Saints of an Elizabeth Hazon 22 Feb 1822 d/o William and Elizabeth, Mushroom, Glass-maker

Then 12 Aug 1849 Stoddard Baird Hazon was baptised in All Saints, mother Elizabeth, no father.

Seems there is alot of the name Stoddard Baird around.

I know these posts are old, and you may have it all figured out. But I was amazed to find these posts.
This is my family that you are asking about.
Thomas Dixon Baird Gilroy is my grandfather. Henry and Elizabeth are great grandparents etc.
If I can help at all
