Need help from anyone planning to visit the BIRMINGHAM RECORDS OFFICE
« on: Friday 22 April 11 09:53 BST (UK) »
I'm hoping that someone is planning a trip to the Birmingham records office and wouldn't mind looking up a record for me.
If anyone is willing to, I am looking for the Marriage of William Warwick and Elizabeth Meadows,
02 Feb 1800, Saint Martin, Birmingham. I am also trying to find William's parents names as well as William's birth date and place.

I know I'm asking a lot and don't really expect anyone to actually do it, but I am hoping that someone might just happen to be heading there and has a bit of time to spare to help me.

Tammy

What Brummygirl has posted is all the information that is given on a pre 1837 marriage.

No ages, place of birth, relationships,  addresses or parents names are given.  :(

Hello Tammy
There's just 1 William Warwick born B'ham about the right age Ch.1779 St.Martin's,parents William & Mary unfortunately he doesn't have a sister called Lucy but she may have been christened by another name of course.
Hey,Tony..Patrish was being helpful, she's just pointing out to Tammy that parents names don't appear on marriage entries in case she didn't realise.Take your attitude somewhere else & leave the Genealogy to our experts like Patrish.

Thank you Brummygirl, Patrish and jim1 for your responses. I didn't know that parents names were not on marriage records.
It sounds very possible that the William and Mary that you found are the parents of William.

Thank you for the information on William and Elizabeth's marriage. Perhaps Lucy Warwick was a Cousin or Aunt.

Can anyone give me advice on how or where I can find the children of William and Mary and as well as the children of William and Elizabeth?
I know that William and Elizabeth had a child named John Warwick born 1801 in Birmingham apparently, although his death record says Staffordshire (I believe it is probably wrong). I live in Australia so am only able to find online records.

All your help is greatly appreciated

Tammy

I have no idea how you misinterpreted patrish's constructive comment.  :-\I don't know why you would bother to come to this thread simply to say this. Very strange ... :-\

Anyway ....  Tammy, if you ever need such lookups and don't get such a helpful response as this time, you can always contact the local archives/RO or library. I've found them very helpful, and for just a couple of pounds (if you know date and church) they may be able to look up these records for you and send you a photocopy (or these days probably email a scan  ;)).

Brummygirl, may I ask where you obtained details of that marriage?

Using the IGI to try to find children (did you know you can do this?  :)) born to William and Mary and William and Elizabeth ...  :(  - it's a bit of a minefield out there as there are several possibilities.

I know my ancestors around the same time and place used several churches, so if yours are the same I'm not sure if it's possible to simply guess at relationships even if the parent's names are the same and church of baptism is the same ... for example the 1779 baptism sounds the most likely, but the IGI has another in 1771 - same name, church and parents ... usually the residence or occupation is checked to try to work out who is who ....  :-\

Some of the Birmingham experts may have better resources and search skills.  :)

PS. Welcome to rootschat by the way.  ;D
