The marriage index in Victoria only extends to 1942 so unable to help with any marriage info on Sarah Elizabeth
CHILD
. Her parents are buried at Springvale Botanical Cemetery
http://www.deceasedsearch.com/index.php
Either of her parents' death certificates may be helpful ie
if
she was an informant there
may
be a married name and address.

National Archives have a WW2 record for
George Henry CHILD
Service number VX106506 :
Born 23 Mar 1923, OTLEY ENGLAND :
Place of enlistment - IN THE FIELD :
Next of Kin - George CHILD
http://www.naa.gov.au/collection/recordsearch/index.aspx
The VX number shows that his address was in Victoria when he enlisted, and was not married s his father in NoK. You can have this item digitised (for a fee). If he was married during his time of service that information should be on his record.
The WW2 nominal roll gives his rank on discharge (1945) as Private and he served with the 4 Field Ambulance; living in Caulfield at time of enlistment.

Hi,
Just a bit more on Judith's last post re George's WW2 service.
His V185451 service number was for service in the militia, his VX106506 was his 2nd AIF service number and his place of enlistment "in the field" would have referred to his AIF enlistment where he transferred from the Militia to the 2nd AIF.
Up until February 1942 there were restrictions on Militia persons transferring to the AIF mainly because they didn't want to deplete the Militia Army too much but this changed once the Pacific campaigns started. There also was a mininum age requirement of 20 to join the AIF in 1939, 19 in 1941 and 18 in 1943.
Persons could enlist into the Militia at 18 which many did then transferred to the AIF later on.
The 2nd AIF (Australian Imperial Force) was a volunteer Army force for any overseas service, the Militia was a Citizen's Military Force part volunteer and part conscription for service initially within Australia and later on in New Guinea.
Regards
Gerry
