Lincolnshire Interests
« on: Monday 18 April 11 20:51 BST (UK) »
I have ancestors from Kirton in Holland and Boston around 1800ish:

Burton
Wilson
Watson

all common names but appear to be in the furniture business as chairmakers or cabinetmakers.

If anyone thinks they have these names in their research I would love to hear from you.

Hi martin
I don't have any of the surnames you are researching but my Smith relations were farm labourers from Kirton End Boston, and i i found some useful info on them from Historical Directories dot org. a bit of a challenge to negotiate the site but worth it in the end. If you have not used the site before it gives you info on most trades and locations so may be worth looking for furniture makers on it. The dates mainly start from the 1850s but do have some prior to that. Good luck with your research.
                          Regards Oibert

My ancestors were Burton and Stanton from Pinchbeck and Heckington. Some of them were cabinet makers, the Stantons later specialised in making pianos. Any connection, have a tree available if of interest?

Hi Martin,
I have Wilson interests from around the Fosdyke area.  Some of them were carpenters and wheelwrights.
My main line is William Henry Wilson b.1877 Fosdyke. He married Elizabeth Ann Royce in 1909.
Any connection?
Cheers,
Pat.

Would be very interested in the tree although we may have exchanged info previously.

Hi Pat - no idea! I have an Elizabeth Wilson m. George Burton in either Boston ot Kirton in Holland. Their children were Baptised in Kirton around 1810 so at a guess Elizabeth wqas born 1785 +/-.

Does your William Henry's line go back further?
