WOW!! Thank you J.D.,  so much extra and unexpected information.  ;D :D

The 80yr old lady I am doing this for will be delighted to learn so much more about her previously unknown English ancestors. I'll get to work sorting it all out for her.

I think I've found Emily in 1901 as Emily Parkinsde Jackson living at Warrington Training Institution with Fairfield Hall

I am a granddaughter of Eric Bradwell, son of Mary Elizabeth Parkinson Jackson. I too live in NZ. I have been reading Eric's biography and am keen to find photos of his mother Mary and her 3 sisters -Emily, Nellie and Ethel.

Hi,

Unfortunately I can't help with the genealogy, but I lived at No 3 Old Hall Lane Levenshulme from 1949- 1958 and I believe a Miss Jackson was our next door neighbour.

I was born in 1944, so my memories of this time are a bit hazy, however, I do remember a few things about the house and Miss jackson if these are of any interest.

Hello THJ and a warm welcome to Rootschat  ;D

Thank you for your comments on this thread. It is possible the lady you remember was either Nellie Parkinson Jackson or Ethel Parkinson Jackson, both spinsters as mentioned above.

My interest was only Mary Elizabeth Jackson, but I will pass on your news to the lady I have been helping.

Let me know if you want any genealogy help from New Zealand  :D
