When you say "have little information on the rest of the family" who do you mean and what sort of information are you looking for? The more details we have the easier it is to help you.

Since you're trying to trace the children forward the first place to check might be census records.

If Hugh is your 'Great Great Great Grandfather' then presumably you do have some information on at least one of his children- perhaps best to let us know what you already have to save duplication.

It may not be of any help at the moment.

Mary Docherty   born approx 1854,  married a James Fraser 1st Dec 1876.  Her father was John Docherty(coalminer), mother was Bridget Docherty. Had a few children.  Lived Dalziel, Lanak.

Rose Ann Docherty - born approx 1850.  Married David Fraser 7th June 1872.  Her father was John Docherty (coalminer), mother was Elizabeth Docherty. Had at least 5 children. Lived Dalziel, Lanark.

If you do manage to link up with either of these I do have more information on them.

My email address is not working sorry.

My Hugh Docherty b abt 1841 to Hugh and Margaret Harvey Docherty, married the much older Elizabeth George (married previously to George Russell and James Martin) in 1862 in Jamiston Square, Bothwell.

I would be very interested in finding the death date and place for this Hugh and for his wife Elizabeth.  In the 1881 Census they were living at Nairn's Land, Wishaw.  That is the last reliable record.
