When they were building the new church in Tramore in 1858, a local man, Patrick Phelan was killed when he fell from the scaffolding while guiding a bucket of mortar to the masons. Can anyone tell me any more about this?

If you are on Facebook, you could ask that question in the "Tramore of Yore "Group or the "Waterford history" group, they might be able to help.

Hi Mindy, The accident in 1921 was actually in Waterford, but it was my family as well.
Thanks to you as well, Trevor, no joy down that avenue yet.

you could contact this site:
http://www.discovertramore.ie/history
the only Patrick Phelan I can find died in 16.7.1862 from Tramore
http://www.irelandoldnews.com
then click no Irish Death Notice Index (it is about half way down the page) (Cork Examiner)

Thanks Rathmore, that's not him, but you have given me a clue to something else.
