Maile
« on: Friday 15 April 11 11:31 BST (UK) »
hi

im looking for info on Florence Emma Maile, i have birth years as 1894/95, but unsure which is right, after looking on Ancestry, i found 'match' to which her Father may Possibly be George Maile and Mother Mary Anne Nichols, both born 1892.

i know Florence Married Arthur Marmaduke Holderness, where my connection comes into play.

Please help, any info will be great

Hello again Krystle

You said that Florence married Arthur Marmaduke Holderness, the FreeBMD has the marriage details as Sleaford m1919 Jun Q 7a 1869

Obtaining a copy of the marriage certificate should reveal Florence's fathers name you can then check this against the 1901 census.

There is another Florence Maile (no 2nd given name) living with her widowed father George, in St Ives Cambs in 1901 however this Florence was born in St Ives in 1889 according to FreeBMD.

I'm afraid that's the wrong family (I think) - the other one appears as MAIL and Florrie was aged 6, born Sleaford (also MAIL on FreeBMD birth, Q1 1895)
father
George 49 Lincs Ewerby

Hello Geoff  ;)

One thing I have learnt on RootsChat is always take your findings as being correct  :) however in this instance I will hold fire in agreeing until we know who the father of Florence Emma Maile was, as shown on the marriage cert.

Certainly the Sleaford Marriage  details in 1919 have her down as MAILE but the Sleaford birth in 1895 is MAIL.

So, whose the daddy?  ;D  George or John  and is it MAIL or MAILE?  ???

That's a sure way of puting the kibosh on it!

The other one married in Peterborough 1914 :)
