« on: Thursday 14 April 11 23:29 BST (UK) »
Hi any info available on RAF squadrons in far east my father served in various areas where the airfields were overrun by the Japanese he was a fighter ground controller and was there during the battle for Kohima Ridge he mentioned Changi gaol but not sure if he was a prisoner there as he had been captured previously but had escaped ,He controlled Hurricane squadrons and I think Lightnings or Thunderbolts .He returned back to uk in 1947 he then joined the RAAF 3611 squadron fighter command as fighter controller eventually became a Flight Lieutenant until the squadron was dissbanded I think in late 1960s .He died in 1980s .
Details from war service---  Sergeant No 1080753 RAF[ W H EMMANUEL]
would appreciate any info ---clwyd 2   [via PM if appropriate]

Hi Clwyd

I have a number of references to the Burma air campaign. It would be good to exchange information, though at this stage I would need some more from you.

I will PM you my email address
