Hi Catherine,

I'm trying to find a supposed connection ( family story) between the branch of my tree in West Yorks and BLACKROCK in DUBLIN. Unfortunately, this would be in late 1700's/early 1800's  so goes back to the time when it's very difficult to research Irish ancestors.

Do you know if there are any SYKES or FRANCE from Blackrock?

Thanks,
Jill
HELP!!!

 BATHSHEBA BOOTHROYD bn c. 1802 W. Yorks.

Baptism nowhere to be found. Possibly in a nonconformist church near ALMONDBURY or HUDDERSFIELD.

Hiya Jill,

Unless I am mistaken you appear to be looking for living people named Sykes or France in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. That would be a great help as they would be on the spot and may also searching for ancestors. The local library may be able to give you a little bit of assistance http://www.dlrcoco.ie/library/br.htm

Here is another possible source of assistance (it was posted on the RootsWeb boards in 1997. I do not know if Mr Merrigan is still at the same address. Mention the Society in your message to the library as one of the librarians may know of him.
Dun Loaghaire Genealogical Society
Michael Merrigan, Hon. Secretary
14 Rochestown Park
Dun Laoghaire
Ireland

I hope these details assist you.

All the Best, Chris

Hiya Kathie,

I am not sure if you want to find your great grandparents or some of the 12 children of your grandparents or a combination of both. If you are trying to find some of those 12 children a search through old newspapers about the time of their death may reveal some information about them.

Hi Catherine,
I'm trying to find information about my grandfather Thomas Sheridan (born c 1900) and his wife Anastatia nee Moylan who died c 1931.  I know absolutely nothing about Anastatia and very little about Thomas  except that they were living in Palmerston Place when my father was born in 1924.  Any information about Dublin Sheridans that could help me track them down would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have any information on the name Andrew Glassby, think that is the correct spelling, about the 1800's?
