Hi Catherine

I previousley asked you for info on Toals and Darraghs from Dublin . Have since discovered That the Darraghs are in fact from Antrim . I feel the Toals/tooles are from this area too and mayby moved to Dublin at a later date . Please could you help me locate James . His wife Rose was born in 1869 . Two of his sons were called John and Patrick , possibly named after his father ?

Thankyou very much  :)

Re: ONE SURNAME STUDY - BRIGLEY please
« Reply #16 on: Wednesday 24 August 05 18:28 BST (UK) »
Hello

I note that you have a one surname study.

I am looking for BRIGLEY family that originated in DUBLIN.

[The English census alternatively lists one of this family as BIGLEY but this would seem to be erroneous as other documents, including a marriage certificate, state BRIGLEY.]

The family in question has the head of household as SIMON PAYNE BRIGLEY.  He is married to CHARLOTTE BRIGLEY.

Their children include CHARLOTTE who married JOSEPH MARSHALL and they have a child BERTHA MARSHALL.
IRELAND is given as the birthplace, and DUBLIN in most of the records, although Bertha is given alternatively as having been born in Lancashire, Manchester.

I know this is somewhat confusing to say the least.

Then there is ARTHUR BRIGLEY [aka BIGLEY] who married my  aunt - ARABELLA IMISON, and their son is called CECIL GORE BRIGLEY and was born about 1894/5, aged 6 in the 1901 English census.

If you have any information to throw light on this side of the water, I would be most grateful.

Best wishes

IMISON

Hi Kate.
I do not know if you can help, but I am trying to trace an Arthur Clinton borne 1792. It is believed he came from Dublin.
Thanks Geoff
