Hi Catherine, I did write to you a while ago about the Mc Cann family from Dublin, I have just had confirmation from the Pro- Cathedral about my Dad's address at the time of his Baptism, The family lived at Lower Dorset Street, my Dad's name was Patrick he had a brother James older than him by approx 3 yrs and a sister younger than him who died as a child who may have been called Mary, I believe she was placed in a convent when her Mother died , their parents name were Thomas and Frances Mc Cann but on my Dad's  baptism cert it states for Frances that she is Mc Cann nee` Mc Cann, akin to Smith marrying Smith. Any info on this family would be welcome even my cousins over there do not know more than I do apart from later on the family may have lived around Pearse Street and we don't know if the parents were Dublin born, as you can appreciate from this side of the water access to census etc is almost nil, so your efforts are well appreciated, cheers Liverbirds
Mc Cann,Dublin. Evans,Anglesey.Jones,Denbigh.Wesson,Huntingdonshire. Mc Dermott, anywhere. and the same names in Liverpool after 1861

Hi Catherine,

Thank you so much for your kind offer to help others here.

I would appreciate any assistance in locating a baptism/birth record on my great granny Mary Deegan who was born in Dublin, Ireland around 1870-78.
Her parents were: Edward Lyons Deegan & Eliza Byrne.

This is obtained from her marriage certificate as I was advised to "believe" the information on the earliest certificate I have on her.

Where exactly in Dublin--I do not know, simply Dublin as it was listed on her marriage certificate.

Looking forward to hear from you.

Kind regards,

Tees

Hello,

I was wondering if you could assist with finding a birth in Dublin for me. He is the biggest of brick walls I have come across.

According to his Victorian death certificate THOMAS HENRY EMMS was born c 1819 in DUBLIN.

No parent's names.

His 1845 NSW marriage certificate also had no details

He is said to have arrived into Australia c1826 but I can find no evidence of this.

Any thing that can assist in determining his place of origin will be welcomed even if it rules out the DUBLIN that we have.
