thanks Imison - unfortunately I'm focused on the ones that stayed in Dublin - trying to get back beyond 1841 to try and prove a link to a group of Dublin Nilands that emigrated to Australia aboard the "Joseph Cunard". This batch were coopers who had worked at Guinness; my Nilands were also Coopers who worked at Guinness.

John
Niland/Neiland/Neilan/Nyland - Dublin
Doyle - Enniscorthy
McCullen - Coastguards from Drogheda, Co Louth
Shepley - Macclesfield and Wheelock
Clarke - Macclesfield
McDermott - Macclesfield and Dublin
Pender - Dublin
O'Brien - Dublin and Galbally

Hello again

I looked up LDS and there are Niland people shown for IRELAND and a few specifying Dublin.  Fewer than a hundred are indicated.

I hope this helps

What a magnanamous offer. Marvellous.

I'm intrested in the Boden (or Bowden) family in Dublin. Anne Bowden was married st St Peter's Dublin in 1847. Her father was James Bowden, a farmer. I can't locate him. At the time she ws married, Anne lived on Lance Place.

Thank you,
Simon

Dear Simon

I have just checked the LDS website and found that there are several people who MIGHT fit the bill so to speak.

It might help you to see if they are there - but then again you might already have looked.

Good luck

Imison

Imison,

I can't see anyone on the LDS website who might fit the bill. Can you clarify what you searched for?

Thanks,
Simon

Also, I have found that Anne Bowden was living at Leeson Place and not Lance Place at the time of her marriage. I don't know if that will make any difference though.

Cheers,
Simon

Do you happen to know what ANNE BOWDEN'S married name was?  To whom was she married?

It might help to locate her.

I note that it was LEESON PLACE not Lance Place.

Dear Simon

I have returned to the LDS site.  If you enter IRELAND,  ANNE BODEN you get many more respones [with exact spelling OFF] than if you put IRELAND, ANNE BOWDEN.

If you put a simple search IRELAND, BODEN you get many variants too.

If you can find who her husband was that might help too.

There are a couple of people in the English censuses called ANNE BOWDEN who were born in Ireland.  However, as these were MARRIED it is not likely that they are the person you are seeking.

Best wishes

Imison
