Maybe you've seen my Downie posting from 2007, but maybe not. My earliest Downie ancestors were located somewhere in Northern Ireland in the early 1800s. My great-great-great-grandfather was Robert Downie, a soldier, who was married to Margaret McGeachan. Their son, John Downie (my great-great), married Bridget McCurdy in the mid-1800s in Cushendun County Antrim, Ireland, and later moved to Greenock, Scotland. One of their children, John Downie (my great-grandfather) married Mary  McCormick in 1881, down the road from Greenock in Port Glasgow.
I have other siblings' names and dates if any of this sound familiar. Please keep me in mind.

Nancy
