Fisher and Glenesk married 1914
« on: Wednesday 13 April 11 15:15 BST (UK) »
Hello,

I have a Robert Stewart Fisher b Oct 1891 in Glasgow who married a Helen Alexander Glenesk b 1894 in 1914 Glasgow. Robert went by the name Stewart.

He inlisted in the Navy (i think) his title on the marriage reg. was Marine Engineer. Rumer is he died in the war or is buried in England.

Helen looks like she kept his name. I think she died in 1977 but I am unsure. Was there any kids? What happened to Robert? I think she may have moved to Lancashire, England after he was deployed and I think is where she died.

Helen's father was William and her mother was Jessie Mackie (nee Alexander)from Scotland.

Robert's father was Thomas James Fisher and Mary Jane (Stewart) from Glasgow

Any information would be great since I know nothing at this point.

Cheers
Tim

Hello

Mystery Solved. Found out that Helen and Robert had a daughter and she is still alive. I have made contact with her and hope to hear from her soon.

Thank you for all your help.

Also recently found that her father Robert S Fisher did not die in England but in Australia. I found a death certificate for Robert (1971). Looks like there was a divorce or possibly just up and left. There is no mention of family on his death certificate.

I hope to hear back from his daughter. She is 93 and I hope she has her wits.

Thank you all.

Tim
