Thank you for your help - I  remember looking at this family before but did not feel comfortable about it being the right one, but I think your tie-up through the witnesses to Stephen's wedding puts it in the right family - right place.

If I can recall correctly the census taker must have misheard Ophelia's name - I think she was Phoebe in the 1891 census, but I cannot find my notes at the moment to confirm this, nor that Elvy was down as Alvy.

Morning - my interest is due to my granddaughter - her father is the Baker.

Sorry cannot give more info at the moment as my pc has crashed with all the records - exceedingly frustrating.
