Jeremiah Dwyer, b1812 Upperchurch
« on: Sunday 10 April 11 14:50 BST (UK) »
Hi to all from Down Under!!
I am looking for any information on the family of Jeremiah Dwyer, born in Upperchurch in 1812. He was transported to Australia in 1829. His sister Bridget, born in 1810 and emigrated with husband. His parents were Thomas Dwyer and Mary ann Corbett.
Can anyone fill in anything about "who stayed behind" and who his family might have been? :)

It may prove a difficult search as the Upperchurch parish records don't start until 1829 for births and marriages. The parish is in the Diocese of Cashel and Emly and records are not online. They are on microfilm in the National Library Dublin for personal research or you can commission research through the Tipperary Family History Research Centre

Good Luck

I am a direct descendant of Jeremiah. I live on Australia. I too am trying to backtrack from him being sent out here as a convict. I have not been able to find any other siblings to him other than Bridget. Seems you need to be in Ireland to try and find out details from old country on any more about them. I am trying to track down the line of children from Jeremiah first marriage. I come from his second marriage and subsequent children

I believe i am a decendant of Jeremiah Dwyer. He was apparrently trialed and convicted in 1928 for stealing and maming cattle and transported for the term of his natural life on the transport convict ship Elisia to NSW to labour for John Hall.
I am connected directly through my mothers bloodline Christiene Dwyer of Ballarat. She had 10 syblings in her familiy.
