Thanks Sandra, I tried the Cstlegarden site but no luck. I tried several other sites but apparently  "Ancestry" has taken them over.

William Barber was born 1814, his wife Maria 1818 Both from Loxley, Warwickshire.. Five young children.  I think" they" went to America between the 1841 and 51 census
Thank you for taking the time to help.

We can try looking for the family, if you have the childrens' names and approximate dates of birth, if you like?

Dates are a bit off, and there are only four children, but:
Sailing from Liverpool to New Orleans, Louisiana on board the Sciota, arriving 28 April 1851
Wm Barber, age 40, Labourer
Charles, age 60, Labourer
Maria(?), age 34
William, age 13
Elizabeth, age 9
Henery(?), age 7
Charles, Inft

Dear Lisa, Thank you very much for your help. Your information is a great help. While the ages are out by my reckoning  they are near enough . There were two Henry boys , one Daniel  born 1844 and the other George born 1842.  Sooo one of the henrys and poor Mary seem to have died. But William the husband was still alive.
Again thank you
Best wishes

I'm a bit confused, sorry.

Did the family return to England?  Did they show up on a later census and if so, when and where were the children born, please?

With the names and dates you've provided, I'm not too sure the 1851 sailing is your family.  ???  Do you know if William's father was named Charles?
