Thank you for that, I didn't try spelling it that way, I wonder why Margaret was the only one who had the different spelling and the wrong second name for Mary ie Maria instead of Elizabeth.

All the sites I have been directed to, don't mention Margaret as being born with all her siblings thats a little strange/sad. Margaret was obviously the oldest I am sure this is her family?

 I am going to try looking for  the Harris and Mcmah ancestors and when they arrived in Australia now. I want to see if they were free settlers, convicts or what.

I have a bit of trouble with the Mcmah side because everywhere always suggests Mcmahon.

So I suppose I will posting again about them.

Just wonering if you know if Thomas had a sister Elizabeth Laurie who married Alexander Gracie? 

I have an Alexander Gracie in my tree who I believe married Elizabeth Gracie (i thought Elizabeth was my Alexander's wife until I found an another Alexander Gracie living with a Margret, so I need to do more research)

Elizabeth Laurie was born in Tynron abt 1803  the only entry I could find on familysearch was

Betty Laurie christened 24 May 1801 Keir with parents William Laurie and Jean Gibson

Alexander Gracie's parents were Samuel Gracie and Margaret Smith.

have you tried looking up newspaper articles at trove?  They can be quiet interesting :-)

I am Val Watson (nee Laurie  born Gympie Qld second youngest of nine children of Herbert James Laurie and Annie Laurie nee McIlwraith I am 83 yrs old and have only one brother 93 yrs and one sister 80 yrs left . My fathers parents were William and Mary Laurie and he was born in Majors Creek nsw, 13 Jnn 1886.I do not know much about my fathers family ,Iknow he had a brother Billand a sister Chrissie and possibly another sister called Ada. Ithought he had twin sisters but am not sure if these are the two.Some of the Laurie family lived in Alphe central qld and some lived in Kandanga. near Gympie , we lived in Gympie until 1937 then in Emerald until 1943 then in Gladstone until 1953 I married a kiwi and moved to NZ in 1951 and have been here for 61 yrs I lost my husband in 2009  Iwould like to know more about my family history . There was a birth to her first marraige-

REG 29237 IN 1896 JACKSON LIONEL G. Father HENRY J. Mother ADA J. At BRAIDWOOD .

This man's death

Perhaps Henry died.
