So sorry, have just seen your reply. This article is very interesting for us to read!!! My great grandmother's birth certificate states father as unknown. She was never told who he was. The story was that Christina was working (if we can recall correctly as a maid) for a high profile/well off family and was sent away to have her daughter. I wonder if this John McMahon Jnr is the father? Upon searching I have found John McMahon owned a hotel nearby. Do you have any further information. Also I still have been unable to track down any photos of the Laurie's. I would love to gather some if anyone has some to share.
