Linda, thanks for clearing that up. What I want to do is create a few trees with Colhoun family's of Donegal, preferably not Y-dna R-lines and pad them out where possible and attempt to find a female name line connection. I have read Brian's post and wounded if this was the same family hence my inquiry as to where you have been tested. But if we were I think you would have been well on this by now. I live in hope I will get a Autosomal stretch to 1750's -> coming from Ireland and can built a bigger picture. I have done this before with my partner who was rumoured to be a descendant of major general William Heath. I managed to map multiple DNA back to his descendants so all you need is a hint to go on and then prove it with DNA. I assume if I do achieve this, it will work out well for everybody else on the E-FT350465 line. I'm still trying to map as much common DNA with other Colquhoun cousins as possible, eliminating any Colhoun links. So far there is only one stubborn line that goes to Robert Murphy 🧬 DNA CONNECTION B:7 Apr 1798 Limerick, Ireland. But I cant link all these matches (some even common with my son) to the Colquhoun tree. Its possible its a Maternal side and doesn't link to Colhouns of ireland at all. But until I find that new tester to bring it all together its going to be a hard slog. I am still of the opinion it was probably a traveling Colquhoun and a illegitimate child to Anne Murray Widow B:abt 1796 Raphoe, Donegal, Ireland
