« on: Monday 04 April 11 21:26 BST (UK) »
Hi All,

Just wondering if anyone out there is researching the Harrison family from Brymbo.

I currently researching the family of Charles and Elizabeth Harrison, & in particular the family of their son Thomas Harrison who married an Eleanor Rogers at St Giles Church, Wrexham 4th August 1855.

Many Thanks - Rowlandson

Hi Maidmarion,

Many thanks for your kind welcome.

I did stumble across the Minera History site sometime ago, and have found it a wealth of information. The Thomas Harrison & family which your link mentions and the family I am researching are one of the same, so many thanks again.

Hi, I`m wondering where you found Charles and Elizabeth.
I never came across that .
John Hughes born 1891 son of William Hughes , married Ellinor Ann Harrison  born 1893,  daughter of John Evan Harrison.
They had two sons , John William and   Robert Thomas
John Evan Harrison born c 1860 (son of Thomas Harrison) married Harriet Ann Pierce.
John Hughes  was my Taids brother.

Hi Wilcoxon,

Thomas Harrison's father was a Charles Harrison (Occupation - Smith) this information is from Thomas Harrison's marriage to Eleanor Rogers 4th Aug 1855 St Giles Wrexham.

On the census prior to his marriage (1851) Thomas can be found living with his widowed mother Elizabeth and his siblings, namely, Ann born ca 1816, John ca 1818, Henry ca 1829, William ca 1832 & George ca 1836. The census gives their address as 'Top Of The Bank', Brymbo :)

From my notes I have John Hughes marrying Eleanor Ann Harrison at Holy Trinity Church, Gwersyllt 4th June 1917. Married by Banns and Witnesses were Jonathan Lewis & Janet Harrison (Brides sister). Page 102 Entry 203

I have information relating to both their sons John William & Robert Thomas Hughes's baptisms at Holy Trinity, Gwersyllt.

Eleanor Ann Hughes died on 12 November 1972 at the Maelor Hospital Wrexham. Obituary appears in 'The Leader' 1st Dec 1972 Page 10. I dont have a date of death for her husband John Hughes. Perhaps you know when John Hughes died.
