Hi,

I'm trying to find info about Alexander MacArthur Campbell b abt 1791. According to the English 1841 census he was born in Scotland but was living in Leigh in Staffordshire where it is showing he was married to Ann who was borm in staffs about 1781.

Do you know his parents names?  will make it easier to see if you can find a birth certificate for him on scotlands people www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk

As his birth was circa 1791, there won't be a birth certificate for him. Registration began in 1855. There may a baptism record for him in the Old Parish Records, but not definately!

Sorry,

I should have said that I don't know the names of either parent and have been unable to find any form of birth entry which is why I've pretty much hit a brick wall.

I have a possible date and location for a marriage from LDS IGI, but how do I find more details of the marriage entry - would the actual parish marriage record hold parents names in 1819?
