Hi,
   I have found the catalogue difficult to search. Generally the more information you put in your question the more, often irrevelant, results you get. If you are looking for a birth then you are probably better searching for the records (on microfilm) where the child may have been baptised.

Thanks for the heads up.  I think I'll search through the church records first.  If I remember rightly I think they are pretty much a scribbly list, so a good strong coffee beforehand will hopefully help.  cheers, Jo.
