same child in two photos

I have two old tintypes that the wonderful restorers on this board have helped me with. I have been trying to determine if the child in both the photos is the same person. Does anyone know who would be able to look at the photos and give me a guess?

I notice that China (on that thread) thought they might be the same, but wasn't 100% sure. 

To me they don't look alike enough for me to be able to say they're the same child.  Sorry

Very difficult to be sure. Facial features at that age seem to change from day to day, I know, I have a 7 week old son and he looks different now to how he did 2 weeks ago!
Having said that, ears are usually the telling feature as they don't change, and these two do look very similar.

I think they may be related but the ear lobes on them look different and as these don't change a lot, (as matt said) different child, the one on the left has bigger ear lobes (the bottom fleshy bit) than the child on the right, also eyebrows different (I used to look at passport photos for fraudulent applications and this is what they told us to look for)

I think the eyes as well as the brows are different.  I think this is a picture of two different boys.  Facial bone structure is wider on one more than the other.
