Jane Scott Jack (Jean, or Jeanie) was born 26th September 1856.  (she was the elder sister of my great-great-grandmother Helen Thomson Jack).  Jane, a spinster, aged 36, married Robert Russell, a coal miner, a widower, aged 36, on 2nd September 1892 at Newarthill.  Robert already had a son, James.
Jane Craig Russell (Jeannie) was born on 14th October 1895 at Jack’s Land, Newarthill.

Jane Craig Russell had a daughter, Jemima Russell, born on 16th June 1915 at White Gates, Carfin.  Jemima was registered as illegitimate, but the child’s father was declared by warrant to be Andrew Horn, miner, Yuille’s Land, Main Street, Newarthill.
