Hi all! Just wondering if anyone had access to the Canada ocean arrivals (form 30a) 1919 to 1924 and wouldn't mid having a look for a Albert Edgar CUTLER born 1901 in Nottinghamshire, England...Any details would be very much apprectiated, many thanks!

There is an Albert E. Cutler from Nottinghamshire arriving in Canada aboard the Montrose arriving Nov. 1924. He is 23 & single. His intention is to stay in Canada. He is going to stay with a friend Mr.? C.? G. Hare in or near to North Battleford Saskatchewan.

If you know he was a farmer, you could check out the Saskatchewan Homestead Index. There is an Albert Edgar Cutler & an Albert E. Cutler in it.

Hi,

You can search and view these images for free at the Library and Archives Canada site.   The filing system is a bit odd (groupings of surnames, then alphabetically by forenames within that grouping), but once you get the hang of it, you can zero in on the form you want.

Just looked at the arrivals form again and just noticed where it says nearest relative in country from where you came it states 'none' although he was from a large family, all in Nottingham...Would this be a usual answer for this or maybe indicate some kind of family feud maybe? Trying to think of possible answers but failing lol!

Hi Guys!

If anyone has got 5 mins would they mind looking for another Cutler please? Full name Frederick Samuel Cutler born 1908 in Nottingham, UK. I believe he is on the Form 30, Border Entry Records, 1919-1924 to Canada possibly!

There is a Frederick Samuel Cutler in the Form 30a arrivals records.

These arrivals records and filed first by "surname groupings", then alphabetically by forename within those groupings.  The first link I gave you - for Albert - is in the surname grouping that includes "Cutler".  To find any other Cutlers, just page forward through the records until you come to the ones that begin with the letter of the forename you are seeking.  In this case - F.
