Very excited to see & hear anything of this branch, thank you.
I am assuming (sic) means not sure of spelling.  Sarah's father's first name is Stewart?
The info I had for James MAGILL was that he was born Feb 2, 1870, so the marriage date 1880 would put James at 10.  Something isn't adding up. I see I have further research...

          "sic" indicates how the name was spelt in my record. Yes, Sarah's father was Stewart and to support her 1860 birth I have found a marriage of Stewart Wetheral, father James, to Eliza Brown, father Richard, in Shankill Church of Ireland, Lurgan in 1853. The IGI list other children through the 1860s into the 1870s but nothing before 1864, the official start of Civil Registration of births.

Do you know how/where I could obtain a document/info re a marriage certificate for Sarah & James MAGILL?  I am trying to confirm James's father's name as also James.  Several people keep telling me that the James I am researching, never married.  Does anyone know if this James's father could have been William?

Hi, I am also a relative of James Magill and Sarah, I am also new to this site someone who just found this site let me know about it which I will have to Thank but I think she is on this site right now so I want to say hi and I hope we can found the information we need

I am also comfused when it comes to this part of my tree my gr gr grandfather James Magill father is James Magill 1840-1921 married to Mary Agnew 1840-1926 her parents are Robert Agnew 1815 married to Sally Hunter 1820 but that is as far as I seem to be able to go any help would be great Thanks everyone

Magill - Antrim/ Carncastle
I do not know at present if my Magills are related to the Magills from Kilwaughter.  The one of interest is a James Magill from Corkermain Carncastle who married Margaret Rogers from Larne on 7 June 1883.  His  father Robert Magill, her father William Rodgers.  Witness to marriage were James Moore and Mary Hood she I think is a cousin or a relative because I think James Magills mother was Margaret Hood but have not confirmed it yet.  I am told that there is a connection to Hoods with the Magills living in Carncastle.  The 1901 census if correct family were living at Ballygally Carncastle.  Can anyone help me with further info. regards Heather

Reading Felix Mckillops history of the Magills of Carncastle might help... or not...because there were alot of families of that name living in Carncastle and yet they weren't related.  However he does a good job of explaining who is who as far as one can. Good luck in your search
