MILES family

Hi, I am hoping someone can help me find  my 4 great grandmothers maiden name.  Mary ann born 1802 in Longborough Gloucestershire England married William Miles born 1793 in Standlake Oxfordshire England. Their children are John, Thomas, Alice, Elizabeth, James, Richard, Henry, Emma, Anne and Mary. My 3 ggrandfather is their son John who married Matilda Smith.

As William and Mary Ann name Children Richard and Elizabeth it may be a good possibility.

IGI has these Children to Richard/Elizabeth;

I have found several Trees and can not understand why no one has brought a birth Cert of a child born post 1837 to find Marys maiden name

We have a possible marriage at North Leigh, and I have the PRs so was able to get the full entry:

14 OCT 1822 - William MILES / Mary COLLINS by Banns
Both made their mark and were recorded as of North Leigh
Witnesses:  William COLLINS and Martha MILES

Hi Pennie, Hi Trish,
I don't have any birth cert for children born after 1837. I have a death cert for Mary Ann Miles - 10 February 1888.
Her first son John (my gggrandfather) married a Matilda Smith at the Baptist Meeting Place on 16 January 1853. The birth year I have for John Miles is 1826. Thankyou for the info so far, I will do some more research on the info you have given me.  Who can I get in touch with for Parish records and hopefully find more ancestors.

Hi Besham ...

You really need to purchase a birth certificate for one of those post-1837 children, as this will confirm mum's maiden name beyond doubt.  (My only slight concern is one of the marriage witnesses - where does William fit into the COLLINS family?)
