1861/1871 census look up please

I  found the following in the 1871 census for my great grandfather on thegenealogist. He seems to be living alone(?)


Sanderson   Elijah   15   Garstang, Stalmine   3151   18b

In the 1881 census census he was married and living in Dalton in Furness. However I cannot find any more information to give me a clue as to who his parents, brothers sisters were.
Can anyone help please.

Do you mean the 1861 census as that reference is not a Lancashire 1871 reference

Sorry yes it should be 1861.

I cannot find him in 1871 census at 25 or in the 1851 census aged 5
He was born in 1845 and was illigitimate so may have been in an orphanage/workhi#ouse at 5
Mother was Catherine Sanderson and he was born in Goosnargh which is where mother lived too.

Hello,
         Found your Elijah Sanderson in the 1851 census records aged 5, he was shown as a visitor to Edward Sanderson 51yrs born goosnargh I suspect his mother was a relative of Edward as he also had a daughter named catherine, I suspect it was his sister or something.

If you check the birth records on FREEBMD there are no Elijah Andersons born between 1840-1840 only and Elijah Sanderson in 1846 which corresponds with the 1871 census of him as a railway porter

Do you know the first name of his wife?

have you found his death record, it appears this may be it aged 69
