Any chance that you will visit Archives. I e-mailed Shropshire Archives and there response "They stated that they can only give 10 min. per q. and they could find no William Woodroofe".  Quarter Session Database - 1838 Session and a calendar for Shrewesbury gaol".  I don't understand why his trial cannot be found as his name was listed in the Gazette see below.

I have been given a date for William Woodroofe's trial , late of Broseley, Salop, Excise
Officer that was posted in the London Gazette 27 July 1838. Issue No. 19640 of which I would like to get a copy of actual trial.  I e-mailed Shrewesbury Archives and they checked Quarter Session database / 1838 sessions, also the calendar of prisoners at Shrewesbury gaol and found no entries for Wm.

Some who were charged at the same time under Insolvent Debtor- Dividend,  were told to be at Petersborough on the 31st of August next but Wm. Woodroofe's name was not among them.  Any suggestions as to where I could look for this trial. He was apparently let out of gaol early because of a new law that was enacted.   Thank you.  Lookin

I've found it.....I have a feeling that this will be one for the Reading Room, and original material.  Depending on how much time I have I will certainly see what I can find.

Hello Lloydy, This is such a generous offer. Thank you. My query is the baptism of..
                      Henry Abbots  Hodnet 1823-1826
Sometime ago I posted a query regarding the 1851 Hodnet marriage certificate of Henry Abbots to Mary Corser surprisingly giving the bridegroom's father as Piercy Pace. I am still searching for an answer re. Henry's parentage.
On the censuses he gives his pob. as Hodnet areas and also Ercall Magna. Ive checked Ercall Magna but nothing shows. Also he is not the Henry Abbots son of Thomas and Fanny Market Drayton. Ive researched there too. I would be so grateful for any help.

Hi,

I'd be grateful if you could check a Market Drayton burial for me.

The new Family Search site has Mary Simon buried 3 March 1821 in Market Drayton. Is there any additional information given?

I'm wondering if she might be my 3xgreat grandmother who had an illegitimate daughter (Elizabeth Simon) baptised in Moreton Say in 1816 but then disappears into the ancestral fog!!  ::)

Thanks,
Jill

Hi Lloydy

Would be grateful for a look up of a marriage in Kinlet Shrops 21 Dec 1794 between George Aschroft b abt 1769 - Surveyor and Elizabeth Evans b ?? -  the record on the old site at family search is submitted and I cannot find it on the new site at all. Therefore, if time allows would you be able to confirm these details?

Many thanks
All the best

Z :)

Hello Lloydy,

If have time can you look for a marriage of Thomas Gad to Elizabeth Banks 31 Aug 1823 Market Drayton Shrophire. Any details available would be helpful.  Particularly age of both as have a dispute on birth dates and parents.

Thank you so much.

Hi Lloydy,

I wonder if I could take you up on your generous offer and
ask for a marriage lookup please? It took place at Shifnal,
on the 13th January 1800 between Richard Parry and
Elizabeth Hansel.
Thankyou for any help you can give.

Best Wishes
Steffy
