Hi Alan

Louisa Parry married John Holloway Seaton 22nd Feb 1865 at St Philip Lambeth, father Walter Parry (Deceased) Market Gardener

George Parry married Emily Bloom 20th Feb 1872 St Lukes Chelsea, father Walter Parry Market Gardener - no mention of his demise - maybe the vicar didn't ask

Benjamin Charles Parry married Mary Ann Parvin 19th Dec 1870 St Michael & All Angels Paddington, father Walter Parry Market Gardener - again no mention of his demise

Hi Dawn & Jennifer,

Given the information that both of you have provided I am beginning to suspect that there were, in fact, two separate families led by a Walter Parry - one married a Catherine and the other a Caroline (as a second marriage after Elizabeth).

Louise's mother was Caroline, and by the time she married her father was dead

The other two's mother (George & Benjamin) was Catherine and yet their father's demise is silent.

From Jennifer's list we have Caroline being baptised in May 1835 (with Caroline being identified as the mother) yet there is no mention of Richard my Great Great Grandfather who I think was also born in 1835 to Catherine.

The name Elizabeth (as a mother) only appears once in Jennifer's list could it be that she died and Walter re-married Caroline?

Regards

Alan

Hello Alan glad to be of help.

If you list the children on the 1841 & 1851 and their c.birth dates, without looking at the mother's name and then look at the list of baptism's without looking at the mother's names, they match almost exactly. There are no other baptism's with the father Walter born Fulham. There is only ever one family in the different census at one time, if there was two families you would expect them both to turn up together in one of the census.

The fly in the ointment is I can not find the baptism of your 'Richard', this would be a big help.

I wish you luck, at least you have a little more information than before you started.

Because of geographical area perhaps we are talking of same family.William's occupation was bricklayer.
