Hi JeannieR
Thank you for the great suggestions. The census record you found must be a cousin of my Anthony Nallan or a nephew, since I don't think Nallan is very common during that time. My Anthony Nallan and Bridget Byron came over to Leeds in 1848ish from Co. Mayo.
They had 10 children that I know of. I have all the census records for them. All the birth records of the children. All the marriages of the them and all the children records. I think they even had a few more babies that died, but those I never found. Spent money on death records that turned out to either James Nallan's or another familly there at the time.
Out of the children, two stayed in England. All the rest came to NY. They would be Margaret Nallan who married a Roberts and Bridget Nallan who married a Moran. I have found both of them on the 1911 Census records, where I learned of their children and my GGGrandmother was living with Bridget along with my Great Grandmother. My Great Grandmother comes to NY in 1922 to be with her brothers and her children, Michael and Mary.
One of the Morans, Nellie, married a Dixon. I have their burial information.
I would to learn:
If there are any Dixons, Morans or Roberts living there still. Or how I could folllow them after 1911 Census (directories of some sort)
Also, I would love to find out where in Co. Mayo the Nallans and Byrons came from. Would there be any burial info at churches of where they were from?
I am so excited to go to Leeds. Can't wait!
Thank you!.
Mary
