Meriden Workhouse - Public Assistance Institution
« on: Sunday 13 March 11 14:33 GMT (UK) »
My husband's great grandfather William Henry Jones' death in 1935 is listed as I Maxstoke Lane, Meriden which I have now found out is the former Workhouse which became a Public Assistance Institution after 1930.

Are there any records available for this time?  I would like to find out why he was there when he had a son and a daughter.
Any help would be much appreciated.

I think you will find that any records should they exist will be subject to the 100 year rule & closed to the public.
If anyone has them it will be the War.CRO.
