Yes this is my Grandfather Frederick Hugh Adams, his mother was Christina Ross she later married Donald Urquhart then Alexander Hay, Frederick does not go to live with her until after the death of both his grandparents. Unfortunately the father of Frederick Hugh Adams is still proving elusive to prove although through a suggestion of Forfarian, I have narrowed it down to the most likely candidate - but still no conclusive proof.  With your surname of Hay - are you by chance a descendant of Christina and Alex Hay?

I'm married to a Hay those two names don't appear on his side but you never know?

My maiden name was Logan, I'm searching all direction of our trees its not easy when the father is not on a birth certificate we often have to accept what we were told by our older relatives  ???

Daniel McLeod    my G Grandfather isn't on a certificate but every thing ads up.

Well If I can help just ask.
Are you connected to Buckman Family Tree owned by annieb60 Greetham, Lincolnshire, England as your Frederick Hugh Adams appears in it ?

Hi Aileen

Yes there is a very distant connection to the Buckman Family Tree and I have been in contact with her where are lines very distantly meet. Looks like we are both searching for the elusive bit of conclusive evidence in our family trees - but that's what keeps it interesting!

good luck

Carol
